The short version: if you subscribe to Field Notes, we use your email address to send you Field Notes, and nothing else.

What we collect

When you subscribe to Field Notes, we collect the email address you enter, and the date you subscribed. We do not ask for your name, and we do not collect anything else through the sign-up form.

What we use it for

Your email address is used for one purpose: to send you the Field Notes newsletter. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it for anyone else’s marketing.

Who processes it

Field Notes is sent using Buttondown, our email provider. Your email address is stored with Buttondown so that the newsletter can be delivered. Buttondown processes it on our behalf under its own privacy terms.

Unsubscribing

Every Field Notes email includes an unsubscribe link. Use it any time and your address is removed. You can also ask us to remove your details directly. See “Contact” below.

Your rights

Under UK data-protection law you can ask us to confirm what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. To do any of these, contact us using the details below and we will respond.
